When life gives you lemons....

Kazootoys_2013_6532602_2  Isn't this adorable????
The wooden lemonade stand on wheels by Kazoo Toys is surprisingly affordable at $99.  It's solid wood!

From their website:
"This colorful portable Wood Lemonade Stand on Wheels is easy to assemble and is perfect for the young entrepreneur.  The stand is constructed of hardwood panels, 2 colorful oversized wheels, chalkboard front panel, dry erase counter top and a colorful fabric awning!"

Of course, the event planner in me sees an unbelievably cute prop for a child's birthday party (carnival theme, etc.)  Maybe later, take it to your child's fall festival at school for a fun setup.  And at $99, you could afford to debut it at the party and keep it for many uses after.

Fun!

Truly everyday celebrating!

Img066

Happened upon this ad in a parenting magazine and I just thought it was
a super cute, easy idea to make a child smile.  Without your child knowing,
you can purchase a small helium tank that inflates maybe 20 balloons.  You can buy
these at Target, Walmart, etc.  After they go to sleep, blow up a few balloons and in the morning,
before they wake, set a few out in their bedroom.

What a great way to celebrate the first day of school, a big race or competition, birthday,
etc.  Easy and inexpensive and a great memory!  For more good ideas on using balloons in
your celebrations, visit BalloonTime.

Best Laid Plans!

My_seating

The dreaded seating chart!  Ugh, right?  So much for putting pen to paper and
drawing your half flat circles for tables and your chicken scratching of everyone's names.
Martha Stewart has a new wedding tools section on her website where you can organize to your
heart's content!  Sections for budget, checklists, vendors, and yes, even the seating.
You can virtually play around with tables, chairs, name each person, etc.
Fabulous!  And makes figuring out how to sit crabby next door neighbor Suzie next to
ANYONE.. maybe fun!   Take the tour of the tools here.

Tables_2

When you have it all figured out, check out this etsy seller for a custom seating chart!
Gorgeous!  And at $80, presents a sharper presentation than most seating cards.

Make it yourself...

Globes

Heather Bailey, an amazingly crafty designer, shares the design of these paper globes.
As featured on the cover of Mary Engelbreit's Companion magazine, she's generous enough
to provide a template for free on her blog.  It's there!  Just waiting for you to download and
make these adorable globes which are sure to brighten up any table and spark fabulous conversations.

Isn't it incredible how the internet is just full of people filled with more creativity than the universe should allow?  :)

A little extra something...

Corsage3_2

This $12 kit from Tiny McSmall comes with everything you need to create 3 felt corsage brooches.
The best thing.. it comes with a plastic needle so your child can get in on the creative fun.

This would be great to be worn for a birthday, kindergarten graduation, holiday or even church.  And as a gift, it would make a little girl's day. And for $12 and 3 in the package, it's affordable enough to buy a couple sets for a fun slumber party activity.

Don't have a little girl?  No problem.  These would really pep up a summertime jacket or even could be used to add some whimsy to napkin rings for a cool outdoor picnic.

Baby

A unique, cute way to celebrate the birth of a new baby!
Glass blocks with the child's birth statistics in colored decal.

If you were making these yourself, wouldn't it be cute to put the strand of white
christmas lights inside so it made a nice night light in a baby's room?

Buy one here in a variety of colors. $12!  Can't beat that for a memorable keepsake gift!

Cootie catchers... fortune tellers... chatterboxes.
A fun little detail that brings whimsy to events.  Make them for a wedding.  Include fun questions about the couple.  Put them in a large hurricane vase and sit at the bar or an entrance table.

Would also be fun at a cocktail party.

Or make them in fun, bright colors and have them for the children at a birthday party.
